This unique tour combines two of China’s most fascinating regions, Sichuan and Guizhou, along with the dazzling metropolitan city of Hong Kong and the beautiful landscapes of Guilin and Yangshuo. This tour encompasses so many highlights from the buzz and excitement of Hong Kong to the beauty and serenity of the enchanting landscapes in Guilin and Yangshuo, along with the fascinating minority people and stunning waterfalls of Guizhou and the popular city of Chengdu with its beloved Giant Pandas.

Landscapes of China

Hong Kong, Guilin, Yangshuo, Anshun, Guiyang, Kaili and Chengdu

Day 1
London - Chengdu

Depart London Heathrow on the British Airways non-stop flight to Chengdu, departing at around 1730.

Day 2
Chengdu 3 nights

Arrive at around 1045 and transfer to the Tibet Hotel for 3 nights. Afternoon visit to the vibrant area of Jinli. Enjoy dinner at a local restaurant, sampling some of the regions’ favourite dishes. (D)

Day 3
Chengdu

Drive to Leshan. Take a walk along the street market before a short cruise along the river to view the magnificent Giant Buddha, hewn from the mountainside in the 8th century. Enjoy the surrounding areas of forest and temples before returning to Chengdu. Enjoy a hotpot dinner en-route to your hotel. (BLD)

Day 4
Chengdu

This morning see the world’s beloved Giant Pandas at the Panda Research Base. Stop in People’s Park for tea. Within the main city visit the Shu Brocade Institute and Embroidery Museum. (BL)

Day 5
Chengdu - Guiyang - Anshun 1 night

Take a morning flight to Guiyang. Upon arrival visit the Dragon Palace Cave, an extensive cave system with underground chambers which is visited by boat. Continue to Huangguoshu, and stay overnight at the Hilton Hotel. (BLD)

Day 6
Anshun - Huangguoshu Waterfalls - Guiyang 1 night

Morning visit to the Huangguoshu Waterfalls which stand 243ft high and up to 330ft wide. There are several viewing points for the falls, one where you can view the complete panorama of the waterfall, another offering a bird's eye view and a third offering close up views. Drive to Guiyang and stay overnight at the Kempinski Hotel. (BLD)

Day 7
Guiyang - Kaili 2 nights

Drive to Kaili visiting the Textile Museum en-route. This excellent museum houses many beautiful examples of clothing. This area is rich in minority people with examples of their traditional textile skills, paper making and local markets. Stay at the Grand Metropark Hotel for 2 nights. (BLD)

Day 8
Kaili

Drive to Xijia and visit Matang, then continue to Chongan Town, exploring the local area. (BLD)

Day 9
Kaili - Duyun - Sangjiang - Longsheng 1 night

Take the train to Sangjiang Nan before heading to Longsheng and staying at the Longji Star Wish Resort for the night. (BD)

Day 10
Longsheng - Guilin 1 night

Enjoy a morning walk in the terraced countryside before driving to Guilin and the Bravo Hotel for the night. (BD)

Day 11
Guilin - Yangshuo 2 nights

Take the magical Li River cruise to Yangshuo and drift gently through enchanting landscapes. Browse through Yangshuo’s colourful shops and visit scenic Gaotian township. After dinner in idyllic surroundings enjoy a spectacular son et lumiere show performed on the river by a cast of 600. Stay at the Green Lotus Hotel for 2 nights. (BLD)

Day 12
Yangshuo

Morning visit to the Silver Cave. Visit a farmer’s house, continue to Jiuxian Village and enjoy lunch there. Afternoon at leisure. (BL)

Day 13
Yangshuo, Shenzhen, Hong Kong2 nights

Take the fast train to Shenzhen. On arrival transfer to your vehicle for the drive to Hong Kong and the Metropark Causeway Bay Hotel where you stay for 2 nights. (B)

Day 14
Hong Kong

Day at leisure or take an optional excursion bookable locally. (B)

Day 15
Hong Kong - London

Late evening British Airways flight to London arriving at around 0455 the following morning (Day 16). (B)

This 33-storey tower boasts floor-to-ceiling windows that give unobstructed views from many rooms of the famous harbour and city skyline, and there are more magnificent views from the rooftop swimming pool. The hotel also offers a sauna, gym and Jacuzzi. The 266 rooms are spacious with air conditioning, minibar, hairdryer, cable and satellite TV and safe.

The Tibet hotel has a selection of 300 guest rooms with modern comforts and conveniences.  There are 2 restaurants providing both Chinese and Western cuisine, and a bar.  There is also a beauty salon, fitness room, massage room and sauna.

Over looking the Ronghu Lake, the Guilin Bravo Hotel has an intimate atmosphere and is close to night markets and shops. Spacious guest rooms and suites are equipped with individually controlled air-conditioning, safety deposit box, free internet access, IDD telephone, TV and mini bar.  The Patio Café is open 24 hours and serves Western and Asian cuisine.  Various provincial Chinese cuisines are available from the Lijiang Restaurant.  Live entertainment is available from the lobby bar in the evening.  The hotel also has a small outdoor pool.

Hilton Hotel, Anshun

Located in the city centre, close to the Hong Shan Lake, the Hilton Hotel Anshun offers a warm and friendly professional service.   All guestrooms have modern amenities including LCD TV and wifi.  There is a Chinese Restaurant offering a selection of Cantonese dishes as well as local Guizhou specialities.  There is also a restaurant serving a selection of international cuisine and a lobby lounge.   The hotel also boasts a swimming pool and fitness room.

Grand Metropark Hotel, Kailli

A large and modern hotel, the Grand Metropark offers a wealth of facilities and amenities.  All guest rooms offer modern conveniences including TV, wifi, air conditioning, hairdryer and safety deposit box.  There is also a bar and a lounge.

Green Lotus Hotel, Yangshuo

Located at the foot of the Green Lotus Peak in Yangshuo the hotel is set amidst some of Yangshuo’s most beautiful scenery.  There are a total of 333 guest rooms, all offering modern comforts and amenities.  There is a Chinese restaurant and a garden courtyard restaurant offering a range of cuisine.  The bar is modern and cosy and offers a range of drinks and snacks and a spa offers a place to relax.
